Volkswagen Golf GTI: Paintwork Correction & Protection

Good day,

First of all, I would love to wish everyone Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year 2013 in advance! Well, pretty busy lately and some issue going around. Thats why i've been away for quite some time. Meanwhile, I bought a new camera months ago which is the Panasonic Lumix LX-7, quite not bad for a semi pro camera. Macro shot are fantastic, can capture more defects on the car paint now.

This GTI is belong one of my friend. There are some re-painted surfaces such as the side door, front & rear bonnet, front & rear bumper. The paint job is good but unfortunately they still left some compound marring on the re-painted surface and feeling a little rough. So, the conclusion is.. We need to polish the paint, and then end up sacrificing the clear coat and finally, you shorten the clear coat's life.

This is how it looks like..

I waited 2hours to cool down the wheels as I plan to use Osren Degreaser FX. Its important to let the wheel to cool down cause it wont have white spots left over from the degreaser, same goes to any multi-purpose cleaner or mild cleaner. And its not good to smell it when spraying on a hot wheel.

Firstly, I rinse of the wheel with a pressure gun. Photobucket

You can start seeing the water turns black cause covered with a lot of brake dust. Then I start cleaning the tire, wheel well and rim with Osren Degreaser FX too. Rim was brushed with a soft bristle brush and finally off rinse with pressure gun again.Photobucket

The body was washed with Osren Bubble Wash from top to bottom with a 100ml mixture of Optimum Power Clean. This will help to bring down the dirt more easily and more effective. Then wipe it dry with a clean microfiber towel, I use blower for the gaps too. Photobucket

After drying, the car was clayed with PermaGlass with ONR as lube.Photobucket

look what I picked.

After done polishing, protection was combined with Optimum Opti-Seal and Optimum Car Wax. Both products spray on and wipe. Making things more easier and convenient.
